Ana bayyana HDPE ta hanyar yawan da ya fi girma ko daidai da 0.941 g/cm3. HDPE yana da ƙarancin matakin reshe kuma don haka yana da ƙarfi a tsakanin molecular da ƙarfin tururi. Ana iya samar da HDPE ta hanyar chromium/silica catalyst, Ziegler-Natta catalyst ko metallocene catalyst. Rashin reshe yana tabbatar da ta hanyar zaɓin mai dacewa na catalyst (misali chromium catalyst ko Ziegler-Natta catalyst) da yanayin amsawa.
Ana amfani da HDPE a cikin kayayyaki da marufi kamar kwalaben madara, kwalaben sabulu, kwalayen margarine, kwalayen shara da bututun ruwa. Ana kuma amfani da HDPE sosai wajen samar da wasan wuta. A cikin bututu masu tsayi daban-daban (ya danganta da girman kayan aikin), ana amfani da HDPE a matsayin madadin bututun turmi na kwali da aka bayar saboda manyan dalilai guda biyu. Na farko, ya fi aminci fiye da bututun kwali da aka bayar domin idan harsashi ya lalace ya fashe a cikin bututun HDPE, bututun ba zai fashe ba.
